Week 7

While in week 7, the signs of pregnancy will be stronger as your baby has increased in size and continues to grow rapidly in your body.

The size of the baby:

The size of your baby at seven weeks resembles the size of a blueberry.

The height and weight of the baby:

The height of the fetus is around 0.4 inches (1 cm) from the crown-rump length. The weight of the fetus at this stage is around 0.02-0.03 oz (around 0.56 – 85gram).

About your baby:

The fetus is growing rapidly with the brain undergoing proper differentiation and growth. The head grows faster when compared to the remaining body as such, the embryo possesses a larger forehead at this stage. The fetus’ ears and eyes are also undergoing the development stage. The inner ear is about to complete at this stage which offers balance and hearing. The outer ear is not yet visible for a few weeks. The arms and legs have not yet formed but the limb buds start to develop cartilage which eventually results in the formation of legs and arms. Other than that, all the remaining essential systems are in the process of development like lungs, fetus’ heart, git system, and others.

About your body:

As all pregnancies are unique, you might experience the symptoms differently from others. Your belly might not be prominent yet! However, your uterus doubles in size but your belly still remains the same.

The umbilical cord has properly developed between you and your baby which transports essential nutrients and oxygen towards the embryo and excretes the waste products. You might experience fatigue, nausea, heartburn, indigestion, morning sickness and many more.

Do & Don’ts:

Maintain a healthy and balanced lifestyle while also staying active and fit. Your diet should comprise of essential food items such as fresh vegetables, fruits, dairy products and others. Do remember to stay hydrated by consuming enough amounts of water.

Visit the dentist to maintain oral health care as you might experience some oral symptoms which might cause discomfort during pregnancy. Morning sickness can also affect your appetite, hence do take small and frequent meals regularly. In addition, take small naps to avoid being fatigue and sleep well at night.
