Your Toddler At 2 Years 3 Months

If your baby has hit the milestone of 2 years and 3 months, then you will notice a few behavioral changes like you will see her being an angel in the daycare and quite a troublemaker at home or overly joyed by playing outside with a bunch of stranger kids. Well, all of this is normal in this age for a toddler. They opt for some inconsistency in their behavior.

Weight and height
According to the experts in the US, the average weight of a 2 year and 3 months old baby girl is around 27.8 pounds and 29.0 pounds for boys. The average height of the same age baby would be around 34.6 inches for girls and 35.1 inches for boys.

Baby’s milestone
At this age, your baby must be learning a new skill, so it is fitting that he or she would act a little bit different.
• They must be learning and using new words to form a better speech, but they are not quite understandable yet. It will take more time to clear their pronunciation. While speaking, they can mix up certain words but it is all normal and cute. If your baby is not learning new words or not speaking, then see a doctor.
• At this age, your baby will be growing his or her second set of molars. These teeth could be growing from 20 to 33 months and they are big so it will be more painful for them. These will be the last set of molars for babies until the age of 6.
• While playing, children of this age can repeat things just to see if these things always result like that. Some children are a little shy to play with other kids, but they will play on their own like the others.

Health & nutrition
The 27 months old baby would still have three meals and two snacks per day. Try to give them everything including vegetable, fruits, protein, grain, and most importantly dairy. Don’t go for a bigger portion just yet. Add yogurt and cheese along with 1% skimmed milk. Common health problems at this age are fever, cough, diarrhea, and constipation.

Advice on the activities
• If you haven’t started the potty training for your child, then this is the time to do it. Experts say 27 months to 33 months is the ideal age for toddlers for potty training.
• The child would want to sleep for 14 to 15 hours per day, so try to maintain the consistency during nighttime at 12 hours, plus 2 to 3 hours of daytime nap.
